Amidst intense speculation about who delivered the fateful bottle of 1959 Grange Hermitage to former NSW Premier, Barry O’Farrell, a spokesman for corporate wine gifting service, The Wine Tailor, Jeff Andrews, today denied that his company had been involved in the ICAC Grange scandal that resulted in Mr O’Farrell’s resignation: “We categorically deny being involved in this matter. Nick Di Girolamo has, to the best of our recollection, never been a client of the The Wine Tailor.”
Mr Andrews further stated, “We certainly have never delivered a wine to the Premier’s office, although we do only deliver premier wine. In any event 1959 was not that great a year so it wouldn’t have been selected by the Tailor.”
The Wine Tailor himself was not available for comment.
